Open MRI
An Open MRI is a type of Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner designed with an open and less confining structure compared to traditional closed MRI machines. It provides a more comfortable experience for patients, especially those who are claustrophobic, elderly, or children, by reducing the feeling of being enclosed in a tight space. Open MRI machines still use strong magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of internal organs, soft tissues, and bones, but they offer greater flexibility in positioning the patient. While the image quality may sometimes be slightly lower than that of high-field closed MRI scanners, Open MRI remains a reliable and patient-friendly option for diagnostic imaging.
